TAKE A STROLL DOWN LACEY LANE
Lacey Lane began in 2010 in a shared rental property in Brisbane, Australia. We were sisters and young mothers with babies on our hips, very little spare time, and big creative ideas we could not ignore. At the time, neither of us had any formal training in fashion or design. We had never sewn, could not read a pattern, and had no experience in the industry. What we did have was curiosity, determination, and a desire to create clothing that felt different from what we could find for our own children.
In the beginning, we drew shapes on baking paper, cut fabric on the floor, and stitched pieces together by trial and error. Our daughters became our fit models. Each garment was tried on, adjusted, refined, and reworked again and again. Every piece taught us something new. Slowly, through repetition and persistence, our confidence grew and our designs began to take shape.
We launched Lacey Lane through small local market stalls and a handmade Etsy store. Everything was created by hand and by heart. We made the clothes, packed the orders, answered messages late at night, and connected directly with customers who resonated with what we were creating. The brand grew quickly, often faster than we could keep up, but the excitement and encouragement from our community kept us going.
Over the years, Lacey Lane has evolved in ways we could never have imagined. Today, we can walk through a warehouse filled with racks and boxes of garments we designed and still feel a sense of disbelief and gratitude for how far the brand has come. Yet at its core, Lacey Lane remains rooted in the same values it began with: thoughtful design, practicality, comfort, and clothing made to add a little something special to childhood moments.
Lacey Lane is a brand shaped by motherhood, curiosity, and lived experience. It reflects the journey we have taken as women, mothers, and creators. While it has grown and changed over time, it is still evolving, and we are excited to see where the journey takes us.
